What is Orange Wine?
Orange wine or Skin-contact wine are whites made like reds, where the juice ferments with the skins - for a few hours to sometimes months.
This natural process gives the wine its orange / amber color as well as red wine characteristics, more body and tannin, while maintaining the acidity of a white wine.
How does it taste?Skin contact draws out fleshy apricot and intense floral notes and the wine can be quite full and roughly textured.
Food pairingMost orange wines are excellent with a variety of cheeses and its deeper flavors is also an advantage with spicy dishes.
